St Cuthbert's prides itself on being at the forefront of technology in a school environment.
We abide by CEOP safeguarding standards and use a host of systems such as Securus, Netsweeper and Mail Sweeper to ensure our students can work in a safe and secure digital environment. A copy of the schools acceptable usage policy can be found here.
The school boasts some 17 ICT equiped ICT rooms, digital recording studio, radio studio, video and green screen recording facilites, numerous mobile resource such as laptops and Flip cameras and much more.
ICT is a integral part of the learning process and allows all students a large amount of storage space, their own e-mail account, Moodle and external portal access.
Working from home has also never been easier with our SGD portal, students can simply login from any internet connected browser to be able to use the schools ICT directly, all resources available in school can be accessed and pupils can work directly on the school system saving the need to bring work home on pen drives.
Our teaching staff have access to a Moodle Virtual Learning platform which they can upload and assign work to students and provide a rich learning environment at home.
The school Cashless catering system provides a safe environment with a cash free payment and our Life Channel digital Signage solution enables us to stream information about the school and from external resources to students.
The variety of software we provide students is also of a high standard, all ICT rooms are equiped with the full new Microsoft Office 2010 suite, Adobe CS4 Web Premier is provided for high end graphics, webdesign and video and our state of the art PLC uses the student friendly Serif Movie x5 which included high definition video and green screen technology.
Students also have the ability to contact ICT support directly when they experience any issues, this way students can find solutions to their own issues and seek assistance without having to wait until their next ICT lesson.
Coming soon to the school website will be some new facilites such as Parental Reporting and remote applications.
