Our Enterprise Mission:
‘To provide an inspiring and personalised educational environment for all our learners (pupils, students and adults), enabling them to realise their full potential within a dynamic learning environment which follows the teachings and values of Christ’
We strive to offer the very best educational and life opportunities for our learners through exciting educational opportunities in our Partnership Learning Centre. We believe that ‘God wants the best for all and the best from all’ and this means demanding the very optimum performance from each individual whether they be students, teachers, support staff or members of our wider community.
Our Learning community will continue to celebrate achievement and encourage everyone to recognise success as being defined by maximising the individual talents that we have all been blessed with. Our intention is that every learner achieves the very best results that they are capable of. Ultimately we aim to produce independent, enterprising learners for the 21st Century, who are self-reliant, confident and able to take their place in society to the benefit of all.
The impact of our specialist status must be felt throughout the formal and informal curriculum. For example, throughout all subjects we must place high value on our specialist skills of presentation, teamwork, research, communication, problem-solving and leadership. We must place great emphasis on developing our students’ and teachers’ skills, knowledge and attitudes in order to become enterprising individuals able to take control of and direct their own learning.
At the very root of all we do are the teachings and person of Jesus Christ.
The promotion of our Catholic ethos as part of our B & E status will reflect the absolute core of our vision and reinforce our distinct identity as a Catholic school. The exploration and promotion of the ethical dimension of business practice must play a significant role in the delivery of the School’s mission, enabling our students to make informed choices as adult workers. Our chosen specialism is directly applicable to life.
Our college is a preparation for adult life and our sixth form provision must ensure students leave St Cuthbert’s with the academic qualifications and social skills necessary to forge successful lives in the future. St Cuthbert’s Sixth Form is a friendly and dynamic community who must enjoy a rich variety of educational opportunities to complement the traditional paths of study and the many varied extra-curricular and social opportunities: our PLC is pivotal to ensuring this.
We aspire to be a Catholic learning community who celebrate diversity and give a place and value to every human gift. Effort and achievement are the keys to our continued success. We believe in the best for all and the best from all. Achievement and success in all aspects of school life will continue to be promoted, rewarded and celebrated.
